HISTORY OF RMC

After The United Metaphysical Churches purchased the Roanoke property in 1994, there was a desire from the local Roanoke people who wanted to become a Chartered UMC Church. On August 15, 1999, Charter # 13 was issued to the Roanoke Metaphysical Chapel with the following officers and Pastor:
President & Pastor: Rev. Stephen H. Duncan; Vice President: LaRue Sherman; Secretary: Ann Gilmer; Treasurer: Robert (Bob) Murray; Trustees: Melody Turner; JoEllen Morris; Lester Duenk; Gerald Lehman & Ramona Morris. Our Past Pastors were: Rev. Stephen H. Duncan, Rev. Al Florey, Rev. Ramona Morris, Rev. Patty Allen and Rev. Mike Perry.

The United Metaphysical Churches which chartered the Roanoke Metaphysical Chapel is a nationwide organization which is listed in the Cumulative List of Organizations described in Section 170© of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as a central organization holding a group exemption letter, whose subordinate units covered by the group exemption are also included as having contributions deductible, even though they are not separately listed.

You are invited to attend our weekly church activities, which begin with Adult Study at 9:30 am, followed by Spiritual Healing at 10:30 am Children’s Metaphysical Sunday School and the regular Worship Service at 11 am.; attend one of the on-going classes, visit the bookstore, read by the fireside in our beautifully appointed Library, enjoy the delicious food in our cafeteria, and absorb the peace and enlightenment as you walk around the lovely 21 acres nestled in the mountains of Roanoke, Virginia.

Please feel free to join us in any of our activities, and if you like what you experience, consider becoming a member of the Chapel. On behalf of the staff that makes the Roanoke Metaphysical Chapel “tick,” we all look forward to meeting you and extend our blessings and bid a hearty welcome to you, your loved ones and friends.
